Susan Murray was elected to Lewes Town Council representing Castle Ward for the Green Party in 2007. She is chair of the council's planning committee and is a member of a number of working parties. She is on the Landport Bottom Management Committee and has been chair since 2008. She represents the town council at the Priory Trust and also at the Railway Land Wildlife Trust.
As a councillor for Castle Ward she is actively involved in local organisations and is currently chair of the management committee at Landport Youth Centre, as well as volunteering at the Landport food bank..
Susan is active with Transition Town Lewes, particularly with the Lewes Pound CIC, of which she is a director and treasurer. She is also a director of the Lewes Town Partnership and is chair of the Lewes Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Susan enjoys cooking and is a keen reader of literary fiction. She also enjoys theatre, films and concerts.
